It’s so important to take time to walk outside, to deeply breathe the air, to look into the eyes of another and truly see them. Walk barefoot on the grass, hug a tree, gaze into the stars
and maybe even take a moment with a child to find a few constellations. These are ancient rituals that bring us back to harmony and balance.
There is a wise woman in you that is ten thousand years old! I’ve met her and she loves you. You know her also, because every person you’ve loved, the children you have given birth to, and every person you’ve ever seen is the ancient mother from which we came and to whom we will return. The trees, stones and
the water that gurgles around them help us remember this ancient aspect of ourselves that is eternal and trustworthy. In these times of change and turmoil we need something steadfast to turn to. Let’s protect and honor our forests. Let’s walk amongst the trees and listen to their tales.
My latest book, A Story Of Becoming, is a fable for all ages, which can be read with friends and family to invite increased trust and healing.
Beautifully illustrated by Belle Crow duCray, it is the story of a seed that over time becomes an apple tree and after a storm becomes a living miracle. The tale is a metaphor for our own process of self-transformation and discovery, reminding us that no matter what we have faced in life the essence of our true self remains whole and complete. Our inner light can never be extinguished!
Our book launch for A Story of
Becoming will be on January 24, 2015 @ 4pm at Granda Bookstore, 1224 State Street, Santa Barbara, CA. We will have cider and cookies. I am the owner of Infinite Light Publishing, an independent publishing company in Ojai. After the reading our team will be answering questions emerging authors and illustrators have about publishing and distributing their own books. Our last two Sparkle books won many awards and sold several thousand copies. We are so pleased that Sparkle has been so
